Los periodistas María Ressa y Dmitry Muratov recibieron el 10 de diciembre el premio Nobel de la Paz en una ceremonia en la que destacaron el rol del periodismo para combatir al autoritarismo. La nominación de la filipina y el ruso motivaron una Open Lecture en noviembre en la que los profesionales Laura Bonilla, Gabriel Pereyra y Tomás Linn se preguntaron por qué el periodismo mereció un Nobel y reflexionaron acerca de la democracia, la libertad, la militancia, la tecnología y la ignorancia.
